Common causes
- Unbalanced load (a single heavy item such as a blanket or a large towel).
- Water has not fully drained, so the machine will not start the spin for safety reasons.
- Worn motor carbon brushes (common after 6–10 years).
- The drive belt has come off the pulley or snapped.
- The tachometer sensor or the control board is faulty.
What you can check yourself
- Redistribute the laundry or add a few items so the load is balanced.
- Check whether water is left in the drum; if so, clean the pump filter.
- Make sure a “no spin” option is not selected.
- Run the spin programme on its own with an empty drum.
For your safety, unplug the machine before any check and do not open the cabinet.
